PRESS INFORMATION FROM BINZ UK Lee Cooper's Five Star Delivery For any business buying a new fleet of vehicles is a big commitment; for a funeral director it is perhaps more critical to the development of his business than it is for most other fleet operators. So when Lee Cooper, independent funeral director of Coalville Leicester, decided to renew his fleet with a hearse and twin matching limousines there was only one real option - it had to be Binz. And best of all, delivery was achieved in a mere two weeks from placing the order. Lee Cooper says, "As Coalville's only family owned company we are proud to present such a sensational fleet of vehicles for the families we serve. As well as being both beautiful and magnificent we can honestly say these are also the most appropriate funeral vehicles available today." The iF Award winning five-seat Binz E-Class based Mercedes-Benz hearse has become an industry icon; the accompanying limousines the market leaders in design integrity and standard of finish. The perfect body lines of both vehicles combined with the optically-clear panoramic side and roof windows framing the casket deck on the hearse creating a distinctive appearance that ensures funerals can be carried out with the highest level of dignity. Ordered at the National Funeral Exhibition at Stoneleigh in June, the fleet was delivered fully operational, two weeks later. Delivered from stock - a level of response that's rare in an industry more accustomed to coachbuilders lead times that can sometimes be measured in months - each vehicle came complete with the now-legendary Binz quality of after-care service. Sales director Kevin Smith says, "Before handing over the keys to any of our customers, we want to make sure that the drivers and operators understand how and why all of the functions and features on the vehicles operate. For example, the seatbelt sensors will cause the vehicle to shut down if driven with an occupant in the seat and the belt not properly deployed. "Full familiarisation of the controls is also an important health and safety issue, particularly when working in the hearse with its rise and fall deck and the loads that the pall bearers are dealing with. The ability to lower the deck to ease the loading of, for example, a heavy American style casket, reduces the risk of back injuries - so we ensure that the users understand how the system can be used to make their workload lighter."
