PRESS INFORMATION - FROM BINZ UK All Rise for Stoneleigh Show The rise and fall casket deck is one of those innovations in hearse design that once you have tried it, you wonder how you could have done without it for all those years. Now, visitors to Binz UK's display on stand C2 at the National Funeral Exhibition, Stoneleigh Park, over the15th/17th June 2007, will be able to see for themselves just what a difference this innovation can make. Standard equipment on the Binz's Mercedes-Benz extended chassis E-Class based 5-door hearses, the silent electrically-operated rise and fall deck was first developed by the Smith family business for late models of Volvo-Nilsson vehicles brought to the UK by the same company during the late 1990s. Peter Smith Binz UK CEO explains, "It is an elegant solution to an old problem: how to combine respect for the deceased with unobtrusive mechanical assistance that reduces the risk of back injury to your staff. Shouldering a coffin will always mean that the bearers at the front will need to crouch for a moment, supporting most of the load by themselves in an unnatural position until the rest of the crew can adopt their proper stations. "Health and Safety issues are also bringing into sharp focus the alarming rise in rates of obesity amongst the population, making a wheeled bier essential in such cases. With our rise and fall deck, the transfer of a coffin from the hearse can be arranged to be at the same level - something that we will be happy to demonstrate to visitors to Stoneleigh in June this year" Ends Image caption: "Binz UK's E-Series based hearse with rise and fall deck.
