The 21st Century Hearse

Binz UK has made a significant sale to another international client, following two recent sales to Sri-Lanka and another to Hong Kong. Mr. Aubrey Mkhabela , Chairman of South Africa's prestigious 21st Century Funeral Brokers Pty, visited the Binz UK stand at the 2007 National Funeral Exhibition, Stoneleigh to take possession of the first Binz three-door Mercedes-Benz E-Class based hearse to be shipped to South Africa.

Mr. Mkhabela created 21st Century Funerals in 1998 and grew the business to 30 outlets, which have all now been converted to franchises offering funeral insurance and funeral service packages. The company currently operates a mixed fleet of BMW and Mercedes-Benz saloons and sport utility vehicles as funeral cars, and the addition of the Binz hearse gives the operation a clear market lead in both image and service.

The potential for development of this relationship is huge for both Binz and 21st Century Funerals. Mr. Mkhabela commented, "21st Century is a market leading operation and we believe that we need to stay ahead of the competition by utilising the best tools available. The Binz hearse has a future-proof design, and its distinctive style sets it apart from other hearses.

"I am convinced that Binz UK can provide the technical and after sales service we expect, and the Mercedes-Benz warranty holds good so regular maintenance and servicing is never going to be an issue in South Africa where the Binz joins our existing fleet of Mercedes vehicles."

Binz UK's CEO, Mr. Peter Smith, is naturally delighted with the prestigious contract to supply an example of its extended-chassis Mercedes-Benz E-Class based hearses to 21st Century Funerals. "This is yet another feather in our cap. We have built a reputation for integrity of service and design and this sale to one of South Africa's leading funeral service companies confirms the faith and respect that the industry now has in the Binz product and the Binz brand."

This sale comes at the head of a growing series of enquiries from international right hand drive markets for the Binz range. Surely a sign that the brand awareness of the Binz product has spread far beyond the confines of the UK market.
