Almost all NUK soothers and baby bottles are produced in Germany. This along with all our other production facilities worldwide, adheres to the highest quality standards. We meticulously oversee every step, from the sourcing of raw materials to the final packaging. In Germany, we undergo frequent and stringent checks. Our high quality products are popular with parents and have made NUK a trusted partner in German hospitals.
Material selection & product development
Even during the product development stage, NUK ensures that not only consumer preferences are considered, but all relevant quality- and safety standards are met. In our choice of materials, we comply with both national and international requirements, using only completely safe raw materials. For instance, we developed a special, firmer silicone teat for soothers in the 18 to 36-month size, making them safer for children with their first teeth. Through established testing procedures, we select only the best materials from suppliers who are committed to meeting our rigorous quality requirements.
Rigorous production & testing
Advanced cameras as well as human eyes monitor the quality of our products. We also check critical aspects like the tensile strength and the reliability of assembled parts for every single soother. The measurements we obtain often exceed normative requirements. A dedicated department continuously develops and refines these test procedures. But it’s not just machines that ensure the flawless quality of NUK products; our experienced employees also rely on their trained eyes at various quality control stations throughout the factory.
Continuous improvement & independent scrutiny
NUK continuously invests in checking and improving product quality. In addition to our own laboratory tests, market surveillance authorities carry out regular checks on random samples. Our product experts are involved in national and international standardization committees that develop safety standards for childcare articles with the aim of ensuring product safety worldwide.

Since developing the first jaw-friendly teat over 70 years ago, NUK has dedicated itself to the well-being of children. Over this period, countless innovative products have emerged, supporting children's healthy development and simplifying parents' daily routines.
A collaborative approach to innovation
Our large in-house research and development department works tirelessly to improve existing NUK products and create new, practical, and helpful baby care solutions for. This process involves everyone: our internal teams, independent experts like scientists, midwives, and doctors, as well as innovators and consumers – all contributing to idea generation.
Staying ahead with materials and technology
NUK actively researches and tests all promising market innovations in materials and manufacturing technologies, integrating them into our product development and production. Understanding material developments is especially crucial. The high safety standards for NUK products mean that developing a new product can sometimes take longer, as we search for the right material until the perfect one is found.
Advanced simulation & continuous studies
We also use special simulation procedures to offer the best possible products. For instance, our NUK- developed drinking simulation reliably measures and compares the pressure dependent functioning of teat vents. The results from this simulation form the basis for further studies that ultimately lead to product improvements, such as the NUK Anti Colic Function. Finally, regular studies continually scrutinize NUK products and their effects on children. New technologies and research findings are then applied to any identified issues, and subsequent improvements are integrated into the production process.
