Sterilising the bottle
When sterilising plastic bottles, do not exceed the maximum temperature of 100°C (see symbol on bottle).
For boiling or steam sterilising, always dismantle the bottle into its components and leave it open to avoid deformation.
For sterilisation we recommend the NUK Steam Steriliser or NUK Microwave Steam Steriliser.
Carefully follow the instructions for the steriliser to ensure performance and to avoid material damage.
Dishwasher?
When cleaning in the dishwasher, damage can be caused by aggressive cleaning agents.
For cleaning, use the NUK bottle cleanser or a mild washing-up liquid and remove food residues also from hidden surfaces. If necessary, disassemble into individual parts.
Soak the product if necessary; do not scratch the inside of the bottle.
Rinse thoroughly and leave the separated parts to dry.
Do not use sharp objects for cleaning (risk of damage – especially to the straw).
1. Cleaning before first use
Before first use, disassemble the product, clean all components and place them in boiling water for 5 minutes. This is to ensure hygiene. Before each subsequent use, clean carefully to ensure hygiene. Sterilise as needed.
2. Heating bottles
Never heat up or cool down closed bottles (risk of explosion/material damage).
Take extra care when microwave heating; localised overheating can occur. Always stir heated food and check the temperature before feeding.
3. Storage
Store dry and hygienic.
4. Replacement advice
Replace teats after 1–2 months for hygiene and safety reasons.
If the bottle is damaged from the inside (e.g. by scratches), it should be replaced for hygiene reasons.
Important:
The Learner Bottle (6m+) and the Learner Bottle with Straw (8m+) are suitable only for liquids.
Straws are not suitable for children under 6 months.
For your child’s safety and health
WARNING!
Always use this product with adult supervision.
Keep components not in use out of the reach of children.
Throw away at the first signs of damage or weakness.
Never attach cords, ribbons, laces or loose parts of clothing to the product. The child can be strangled.
Never use feeding teats as a soother. This also applies to other drinking attachments.
Never fill the drinking cup with carbonated drinks or drinks that are too hot. This can lead to excess pressure that can make the liquid overflow.
Leaks may also occur in places with low air pressure (e.g. aircraft).
When filling with drinks made from instant powder, make sure that the powder has completely dissolved.
Residue, thick liquids or even fruit pulp can impair the function of the drinking attachment.
Always check food temperature before feeding.
For drinking attachments
Inspect the drinking attachment before each use and pull it in all directions.
Throw away at the first signs of damage or weakness.
Please softly squeeze vent and drinking hole/slit before each use to ensure that it is open.
Do not dip in medicine!
Continuous and prolonged sucking of fluids will cause tooth decay.
Tooth decay in young children can occur even when non-sweetened fluids are used.
Do not leave the feeding teat, other drinking attachments or the bottle in direct sunlight or heat, or leave in disinfectant (“sterilising solution”) for longer than recommended, as this can reduce the strength or damage the material.
Certain foodstuffs may discolour the material (e.g. carrot juice) or affect its odour (e.g. fennel tea). This has no effect on the product’s suitability for use.
Temperature-based colour changing paints are sensitive to moist heat and descaler. They will fade over time if frequently subjected to evaporation or boiling out.
